I'm not sure what axis your referring to when you say "z", but whether it be the traditional up and down or because were viewing a monitor it's in and out (aka: lathe 2 axis) but the PS3 Eye proved it can do all 3 axis with the demo of their waggle sticks.
In their demonstration which was done with the PS3 Eye they were moving the blocks (4:30), mind you they could bring the blocks closer but it looks like the distance away was limited but that might be because his arms...
A 16gb ipod Nano is $200 and a 16gb ipod touch is $300 here in Canada and the ipod is not even half of what the PSP is when it comes to gaming.
To me the PSP is overpriced if you already own one, but for people who are on the market the value is better than that of the ipod series.

No it doesn't, it supports MICRO ms which is smaller. The Pro Duo sticks that the current PSP's have will not fit.

That means it's going to be around $300CAD with tax which is too much for this, heck we don't even have a video store or the PSN cards here (although it's rumored the cards are coming in June).
Since there still supporting the UMD why pay more for a system that lets you play content you really don't own.
